Aurora — Operations & Accounting Automation

Merchant and administrative workflows connect catalog and order activity with accounting records, reconciliation and exception review.

01 / Context to delivery

What we built and why.

Merchant and administrative workflows connect catalog and order activity with accounting records, reconciliation and exception review.

Context / challenge

The work behind a marketplace continues after checkout. Products, orders, payments, returns and merchant balances must be traceable without treating every exception as a separate disconnected process.

Build / approach

Vagary developed merchant and administration workspaces and accounting integration paths that preserve the link between operational activity and the records it produces.

The merchant’s day-to-day workspace

Merchant tools cover products, catalog operations and order handling. The accounting workspace includes quotations, invoices, customer receipts and statements, alongside supplier bills, purchase receipts and payments. The workspace brings customer and supplier activity into the same operational context.

Posting with an identifiable source

Accounting rules cover sales, payments, refunds, returns, commissions, payouts and stock movements. Source events feed defined posting paths, so records can be traced back to the activity that created them. This is particularly relevant when a workflow spans both merchant operations and platform administration.

Reconciliation and controlled exceptions

Reconciliation checks and retry previews provide paths for examining posting gaps. Money accounts, ledger views, journals and reporting sit alongside permission and audit controls. Operators can review the accounting consequences of an event while keeping the original business context available.
